Ten students of T.I Ahmadiyya school in Salaga have been suspended indefinitely for causing Riot in July last year that killed one of their colleagues.
The affected students are Mohammed Saani Adams( 2 agric), Alhassan Issahaku (2 agric), Issahaku Jabirl (2 arts D), Abubakari A Razak (3arts C), Mustapha A Razak (3arts C), Haruna Safianu (3 arts C), Karimu Obeng Francis (2 arts C), Duniye Ussif (2 Home Economics B), Abukari Abdul Karim (2 arts C), Sachibu Haruna ( another 2nd year student).
The school was closed down indefinitely after the students rioted against school authorities for calling in Police to arrest their colleague. School property were vandalized and one life lost.
The Regional education directorate subsequently formed a committee to investigate the matter and in a letter dated 29 December 2015, therefore concluded that these students be suspended. The letter stated that the move was part of measure to ensure absolute peace in the school.
