11 Democracy Hub protesters to remain in custody as Court adjourns bail hearing

Eleven more Democracy Hub protesters, including Felicity Nelson, are set to remain in police custody overnight following an adjournment by the court.

The Circuit Court 6, where the protesters were brought, postponed the hearing to Thursday, September 25, to allow the prosecution time to respond to the bail applications.

This brings up 50 the number of Democracy Hub protestors who have been remanded into police and prison custody.

The protestors were arrested by the police from Saturday, September 21, to Monday, September 23 following violent clashes between protesters and police at the 37 Intersection in Accra during the ‘anti-galamsey’ protest by pressure group, Democracy Hub.

Meanwhile, a leading member of the group, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been admitted to the Police Hospital.
