About 20 machomen welding sticks and stones today destroyed two ballot boxes at the New Suame MA JHS polling station of the Suame Constituency.
Voters, journalists, polling agents and EC officials had to take to their heels for their dear life.
One of the macho men claimed that they were upset by the negative posture of party and EC officials towards their candidate, Mr Francis Dodovi.
He explained that the agents of the other candidate, Mr Brogya Genfi, had accreditation and copies of the register while their agents were left out and treated as though they were not part of the process.
Immediately after the destruction, they left the scene.
EC officials have since replaced the two boxes and put in the ballots that there in the destroyed ones. Voting is going on smoothly. Police presence have been increased.
