NDC Media Monitors in the Ashanti region, popularly called serial callers have served warning the opposition New Patriotic Party could hop on issues arising within the party in the region to destabilize it.
Chairman of the Media monitors Abdul Latif Abdullahi (Julius Aghahowa) tells rawgist.com party members should respect the decision of the President on the recent re-nomination of Yamoah Ponkoh and others for M/DCE positions.
The group wants party members who disagree to avoid radio programmes and follow the party’s laid down procedures.
Abdul Latif Abdullahi fears allegations of bribe taking and counter allegations as is the case at Ejisu-Juabeng have the tendency to arm the NPP against the NDC.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ejisu Juaben Gloria Huze has accused Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda of taking a whopping sum of GHc400,000 from Yamoah Ponkoh to influence his nomination as MCE for the area.
The media monitors also want the party hierarchy to be up and take charge of the situation.
The Media Monitors who are appalled by the involvement of party executives they believe should know better emphasized; “We should all cease fire if we want to achieve our one million votes target, we don’t want the party to become like the NPP”.
“The Afigya Kwabre executives are also alleging that Madam Betty is supporting the DCE; a situation we see as unfortunate and calculated to tarnish the image of Madam Betty and the MCE”.
