Otec 102.9FM to host Ashanti Police Commander on special election security programme

otec-fmKumasi based Otec 102.9 FM and Ashanti Regional Police Command are set to hold an out-studio political talk programme to discuss matters concerning security and election 2016 as the country gears up for her general elections on November 7.

“Dwabirem”, a well patronized programme is aired by the station from Monday to Friday every week at 3PM hosted by Kwabena Prah Jnr. known in the media circles as the “Don”.

Political discourse between the two major political parties; ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and opposition New Patriotic Party NPP) is getting fierce as communicators of both parties have vowed to secure victory for themselves in the crucial election.

The NDC in the Ashanti region has already announced its intention to secure one million votes from the region whiles the NPP has also indicated its readiness to forestall any fraudulent victory for the NDC.

Communicators of both political parties are already building up tension on the airwaves with some announcing a stockpile of cutlasses whiles others accuse the government of producing military uniforms in South Africa for its foot soldiers; statements deemed to be inimical to the peace of the region.

The tension perhaps is the reason behind Otec FMs decision to move this Friday’s edition of the programme to the premises of the regional Police Command to discuss issues pertaining to security.

rawgist.com has learnt the the Ashanti regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye will partake in the discussion and avail himself for questions regarding security in the region. There will also be representatives of the various political parties.

Chief producer of the programme, CJ Louis tells rawgist.com “While we educate and inform, it is also our responsibility as media house to ensure the country is at peace after 2016 elections” adding “the station plans to roll out more educative programmes about policies and programs of political parties to enable electorates make informed choices”.
