Two organisations on Wednesday presented two cheques for 20,000.00 Ghana cedis to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture towards the celebration of this year’s National Farmers Day scheduled for December 5, 2014.
The National Investment Bank (NIB) and Intercom Programming Manufacturing Company (IPMC) Limited, presented separate cheques for 10,000.00 Ghana cedis each at a ceremony in Accra.
Mr Charles Wordey, Head of Corporate Affairs of NIB, who was the first to present to the Minister, Mr Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, said each year the bank contributed towards the honouring of the nation’s gallant farmers.
He said the presentation was to assist the Ministry to realise its objective of setting up the day to award the country’s hard working farmers.
Mr Amar deep Hari, Head of IPMC Limited, said the company, which had its headquarters in Accra, had many other branches in Ghana and it was part of its commitment to help the Ministry to successfully celebrate this year’s farmers day.
Mr Kwetey expressed the Ministry’s profound gratitude to the organisations and urged other organisations to emulate their kind gesture to ensure a successful farmers day.
