The appeal court in Kumasi has adjourned to 21 October 2015 for ruling in a case involving Yahuza Yakubu and 4 others. In 2009, there was a clash between NDC and NPP supporters in Tamale, a life was lost and about 30 houses burnt.
Yahuza and 4 others were arrested and were on remand for over 4 years and later sentenced, one to death and the others to a minimum of 25 years each. His lawyers subsequently filed an appeal. The appeal court adjourned the hearing of the case to 21 October 2015 for ruling.
Speaking to Ultimate News, the lead counsel for the 5 incarcerated persons, Nana Obiri Boahen said he is fulfilled for dedicating himself to the defense of the five convicted people.
Meanwhile the court also ordered the accused by sent to the Ankafo Prison upon his request on the grounds that the meal he is served in the Kumasi central prison does not support his diabetic health status. Lawyer Boahen explained what his client request was
