24-hour economy will only work if we Black out corruption-Austin Gamey
Labour Expert, Austin Akufo Gamey says although the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy is an excellent idea, it can only work well when corruption is “blacked out” of the economy.
He believes the eradication of corruption will free up a significant amount of financial resources required to implement the 24-hour economy agenda.
Mr. Gamey, who was speaking in an interview on PanAfrican Television expressed a lot of confidence in the 24-hour economy and the capacity of the NDC’s flagbearer John Mahama to implement it as President of Ghana.
The Labour Expert believes the 24-hour Economy is the way to go if the frontiers of the Ghanaian economy is to see significant expansion.
Coincidentally, Mr. Gamey revealed that he has been teaching the same concept in other countries including Singapore and Zimbabwe.
He believes strongly that many qualified Ghanaians will be employed in a 24-hour economy, more taxes will be accrued, and foreigners will have more confidence in a 24-hour Ghanaian economy.
As Ghanaians prepare for the polls to elect a President and Parliamentarians, the largest opposition party; National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been proposing a 24-hour economy agenda as a way of dealing with the country’s economic woes and resolving unemployment.
