Isn’t it sad when believers of God get so overpowered by their troubles that they seem to forget He exists? God must be very disappointed in us, when we get so troubled we forget to ask him for help.
A friend once told me, “I have so many problems, i want to die.”
I had a feeling she did not mean what she said. Because she is the type who goes to church about twice every week.
I asked her, “what do you go to church for? God must be really ashamed of you for saying this.”
Interestingly too, this life has a manual to it, the kind we can revise anytime we feel the going gets tough; The Sacred Writ (Bible). Yet, we keep it on the shelf, collecting dust.
These are 5 of the many instructions on how to Vim Up from the Sacred Writ:
Colossians 3:16 “There is none like Him, and He will not allow His word to return to Him void!”. God is ‘too supreme’ to bite back his words. The promises in the Sacred Writ about his protection for us He will keep. He is a covenant keeping God whatever He says He will surely do, it may tarry, but it shall be fulfilled.
Joshua 1:5, No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.“ This was God’s promise to the new leader of the Israelites, Joshua after Moses death.
God has always been with men and women who have committed their ways to Him, He will never leave such people. His delight is in seeing that all things have worked for their good.
Deuteronomy 31:8, The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
It is human nature, we get discouraged at times but God asks us not to be. Anytime the troubles of life weigh us down, let us, while believing with all our hearts repeat the phrase, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged”.
Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
God wants us to have Vim (strength and courage) knowing He is with us every step of the way. He needs us to believe his word, acknowledging that He has power over all things. Why fear when you have the holder of all powers by your side?
Proverbs 3:5-6“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”. The Lord our God, the Supreme Architect of this world existed before the existence of this world. He is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. Man’s knowledge is gravely limited, He therefore admonishes us to submit to Him so He straightens our paths.
Remember there’s a manual to living (The Sacred Writ), let’s use it!
