The Deputy Chief Executive officer in charge of operations at the Middle Belt Authority (MBA)Mr. Vincent Frimpong Manu has revealed that the authority is currently constructing 337 community-based mechanized solar-powered system and 330 toilet facility across the regions.
Out of this number, the Ashanti region is benefiting from 142 toilet facilities and 142 community-based mechanized solar-powered water system. In a similar vein, the Bono region will receive 90 of the community-based mechanized solar-powered system and 87 toilets whiles the Eastern region gets 105 Solar – powered water systems and 105 toilets.
These projects form part of the government’s 1million Dollar per constituency promised by the NPP during the 2016 electioneering campaign.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast show l, Mr. Manu, explained further that these projects are funded exclusively from the 1million dollars per constituency, and added that “what we are witnessing today is 2018 1 million for each constituency in the country” .
He hinted that those facilities will soon be labeled to make it visible for all to see. He added that many keeping asking the whereabouts of the much touted 1million dollars per constituency, hence the decision of the authority to make it visible for to all to see where and how it has been utilized.
He is optimistic these initiatives will give huge relief to the constituents.
We are doing this to achieve the sustainable development goals agenda 6, which seeks to address water and sanitation problems bedeviling the country as quickly as possible.
