Scores of market women and traders at the Anyinam market in the Eastern Region could not hide their joy on seeing their Member of Parliament, Abena Osei-Asare as they mobbed the latter when she toured the market Center Tuesday morning.
Shouting four more for Abena, having heard the MP had submitted her nomination forms earlier that day, the women praised the MP and the Deputy Minister of Finance for her industry.
Interestingly, both foodstuffs and vegetable sellers with their cloths held up high waved at the MP with ecstasy.
With the crowd following her including delegates and party people getting thicker by the minute in the market, Mrs Osei-Asare had to stop to intermittently address the traders.
COMMITMENT:
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper after the tour, Mrs Osei-Asare said she was overwhelmed by the show of appreciation by the market women and traders.
She noted that the resolve of her outfit is to work to ensure Atiwa becomes a prosperous constituency.
The people of Atiwa East, the Deputy Minister stressed deserve to have the best of all things that comes with governance.
She noted that her desire is to continue with the building of more school infrastructure and other basic amenities for the people in the area.
“It’s quite refreshing to see your people appreciate the modest work you do and for them to show you such love means you have to work even more to make this constituency prosperous one”, Mrs Osei-Asare posited.
PROJECTS:
Pointing to some modest projects initiated by her outfit, Mrs Osei-Asare said she was delighted to have ensured that all basic schools were put on the school feeding program from the earlier 3 schools that were on the intervention module.
With the provision of scholarships to about 100 people in the constituency, the Deputy Minister of Finance said more needy but brilliant students would be supported by her outfit.
Mrs Osei-Asare promised to continue with the program of resourcing farmers and other small scale enterprises with incentives and stimulus packages.
In the area of health, the Deputy Minister stressed the continuous upgrade of facilities and the provision of more of same to areas that do not have.
“As we continue with our modest contributions to all sectors of Atiwa East economy I am promising to continue with the resourcing of health institutions, schools as well as the provision of jobs for the youth so that together we will become a confident people to help in the development of this constituency and the country as a whole”, the MP stressed with passion.
