Ghana News-One of Ghana’s credible women’s wing and religious movement, Abena Tay Ministries (ATM) has msigned a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Breast Care International (BCI), an international non-governmental organization to commit themselves to women empowerment initiatives in the country.
At a brief signing ceremony in Kumasi last week, Lady Reverend Abena Tay and Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai committed to collaborate in ventures that will ensure the wellbeing of women, the needy and vulnerable in the society.
The two leaders pledged to combine efforts in sensitizing the public against diseases such as breast cancer and other ailments that affect the women folk.
As part of the understanding the two outfits would support each other in initiatives that have been started already.
The two outfits are planning for the upcoming 5th Anniversary celebrations of the Abena Tay Ministries in Accra. A Pink Market Day event has also been planned for Tema on the 8th of September.
In a remarkable comment, Lady Rev Tay said her ministry upon an intensive search and background checks about NGO’s in the country found BCI as the most credible outfit to partner with.
BRIEF BACKGROUND:
Lady Rev Abena Tay is the President of the Abena Tay Ministries and also the proprietress of the Sensels School which is based in Taifa, Accra.
She is a product of St Roses Secondary School, Woolwich College in UK, University of Ghana, Legon and International Theological Seminary.
Lady Rev Abena Tay (Dr.) is a UN Ambassador of Peace with an Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Foundation.
She is also a licensed Counselor for HIV and AIDS, mentor, philanthropist and a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ as well as founder of about four foundations and international network groups.
BCI LEADER:
Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, President of BCI and CEO of Peace and Love hospitals in Ghana has practiced medicine for over 28 years to date.
A notable breast cancer surgeon and an advocate for women, Dr Wiafe Addai has for over two decades being part of international research into breast cancer.
She has over two decades been involved in outdoor and community based sensitization initiatives to educate the public about breast cancer.
A member of the World Cancer Union, Dr Wiafe-Addai is a notable humanitarian, philanthropist, conference speaker and cancer surgeon.
She has received countless awards with the famous ones being the ones she received from the National Health Insurance Authority, Female Entrepreneurs Group in Africa, the BIZZ Group Legend Award from Miami, USA and many others.
