2012 Flag bearer of the Convention Peoples’ Party Dr. Abu Sakara says he will soon announce his prefered candidate for the country’s presidency.
He tells his followers on his Facebook wall that his interest now that he is not in the Presidential race is to “support a candidate that is most focused on building the nation and charting a development path that allows everyone opportunity to prosper and live in peace”.
It is obvious from the post that Dr. Abu Sakara has been asked several times on several ocassions what he is going to do now that he is not contesting the country’s Presidency.
Here is his post in response to that question as found on his Facebook wall:
“In response to the many questions about what i plan to do now that i am not contesting in the 2016 presidential race i say this… What is most important now is that I am still a Ghanaian and i am passionate about ensuring that the national interest takes precedence over partisan agendas in our development process. I will therefore support a candidate that is most focused on building the nation and charting a development path that allows everyone opportunity to prosper and live in peace. I hope you and all those who would have voted for me will continue to support me in this quest. In due course I will make my preference known.Thank you.”
Dr. Sakara has gained recognition as one of Ghana’s finest politicians although he only managed 20,323 votes out of the 11,246,982 votes cast, constituting 0.18% of the total votes as flagbearer of the CPP in 2012.
