Abusua Radio to Rock Kumasi-EIB CEO hints

Bola-RayThe Chief Executive Officer of the Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) group, Nathaniel Kwabena Adisi, popularly known in showbiz circles as Bola Ray says the Ashanti region is the next hotbed the company would want to establish its presence fully.

The region, he intimated provides fertile grounds for excellence in commerce and other private enterprise initiatives.

Addressing the first ever launch of an elections hub for the Ashanti region, the CEO revealed another local brand from the EIB group would soon take over the airwaves of the golden Kingdom.

INTRODUCTION :
Christened ‘Abusua Radio’, this twi speaking station would make it two from the stables of EIB in the region as Ultimate FM remains the only affiliate bearing the footprint of the group in the garden city.

Though a few years in the Ashanti region, Ultimate FM has continued to provide excellent broadcasting in the English Language with show hosts like Lantam Papanko (morning show), Julius Caesar Anadem (fact file), Eno Safo (news), Patricia Ama Bonsu (business news) and Benjamin Yamoah (Sports Zone), leading the pack with finesse in what they do.

With this new addition, Mr Adisi believes the group would firmly place its feet on the Ashanti soil as trial blazers in entertainment and information.

PROJECTIONS:
Currently, the EIB boasts of six other radio stations across the country with Starr Fm becoming a household name as its online portal remains the most credible source of on time and exclusive news stories.

According to the CEO, the company plans to streamline its activities to match up to modern trends of broadcasting.

He, maintained EIB was resolved to recruit the best products on the job market to man its establishments across the country.

MAWEREHENE:
Addressing patrons and distinguished personalities at the launch, Baffuor Osei Hyeaman Brentuo, Otumfuo’s Mawerehene indicated the readiness of the Kingdom to receive the excellence the EIB group is promising.

He stressed that as a media group they could only cement their presence in the homes and workplaces and minds of residents in the region by the provision of undiluted news and information.

ELECTIONS:
Speaking on the role of the media in an election year, Dr Kwesi Aning, Senior Research Fellow at the Kofi Annan International Peace-keeping Training Centre, (KAIPTC) charged the media to rise above mediocrity and work to provide accurate information to the public.
This, he reinforced would ensure that citizens make an informed decision in the choices they intend making on election day as the nation heads for the polls in November 7th.

He cautioned the media to desist from churning out careless information.

Dr Aning vehemently warned politicians against the making of ethnocentric comments, adding the consequences of such can never be repaired.
