Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah, on Monday, 7th April, received a 100% confirmation to become the Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Techiman Metropolitan Assembly.
Hon. Adjei Mensah, a former one-term Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency (2013-2017) was on Friday, 4th April 2025, nominated by President John Dramani Mahama to become Techiman’s next Mayor.
His confirmation took place at the Bononkyempem Hall in Techiman. All 46 assembly members, comprising 32 elected members and 14 government appointees, voted ‘YES’ for Hon. Adjei Mensah, who is also a former Presiding Member of the same assembly.
Meanwhile, before the Mayor’s confirmation, the Assembly had earlier elected Hon. Issah Adams the Assembly Member for Kenten electoral area, as the new Presiding Member for the Techiman Metropolitan Assembly. He went unopposed and garnered 33 YES votes against 12 NO votes with 1 rejected ballot.
The Mayor for Techiman, Hon. Adjei Mensah, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to all and sundry, calling for stronger support from everyone to make the Metropolis greater.
Present at yesterday’s special meeting of the Techiman Metropolitan Assembly were Nananom, Clergy, MMDCEs, NDC Executives led by Mr. Unas Owusu (Unasco), the Regional NDC Chairman, and people from all walks of life.
Hon. Francis Owusu-Antwi the Bono East Regional Minister, in his address, expressed confidence in Hon. Adjei Mensah’s ability to superintend over the affairs of the area as Mayor.
