The problems of Dormaa-based, Aduana Stars seem to be far from over. After losing consecutively in their first and second matches in the just started Ghana Premier League, the club’s predicaments have grown from bad to worse.
It all started with their Captain; Godfred Saka, who was stripped off his position in addition to a fine of one month salary after losing to International Allies in their opening league fixture. Earlier claims suggested that Saka protested against management on player remunerations which was not taken lightly. The justification of management was that he intentionally took a red card which was seen as a sabotage against the club and as such warranted the punishment.
Fast forward, the next person who fall victim to Aduana Stars crises was their head coach; Nurudeen Ahmed who gave up his job after the defeat to All Stars over the weekend in their week two Ghana Premier League clash at the OsaagyefoƆ Agyemang Badu Stadium. Although, clarity was not given to the reason for the resignation, it will not be far from right to say he left in the mist of problems.
As if that was not enough, the latest on the bill has being the sacking of their assistant coach; Abdul Rahman Kwabena Ameyaw who has been with the club since time in memorial.
According to sources close to rawgist.com, the assistant coach has been axed of his post because, management believed he has instigated players to perform poorly for the sacking of the head coach so that he can take over.
On the contrary, the former assistant coach has come out vehemently to refute all these allegations labelled against him and further emphasized his unflinching loyalty to the club. He reiterated, not to have done such a thing against a club he has suffered and toiled for all his life.
In an exclusive interview on Kumasi-based Nhyira Fm, Mr. Ameyaw;
“When they went to Tema, the players didn’t perform so they (management) said I’m inciting the players against the coach.
How on earth can somebody do this? They said that when the coach leaves, I’m taking over so am always sabotaging them.
How could I do that?
If am the cause, I leave for Aduana to recover its glory.
Stepping aside is not a worry to me, if I’m the stumbling block? I will leave for Aduana to progress” he groaned.
The CEO of the club; Mr. Albert Commey is yet to comment on any of the issues so far.
