The 2016 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has planned to embark on a month long tour of the country beginning Thursday, September 3, 2015.
The tour dubbed “Rise and Build Tour” is to enable him touch base with the party ahead of the commencement of the campaign for the 2016 general elections.
A statement signed by the Party’s Press Secretary, Eugene Arhin said Nana Akufo-Addo would meet up with regional executives, constituency executives, and all contestants in the NPP parliamentary primaries.
“This is to prepare the party for a campaign that hopes to energise Ghanaians to help build and restore Ghana onto a path of progress and prosperity,” the statement said.
The Volta Region would be Nana Akufo-Addo’s first point of call, followed by a tour of the Eastern Region and the three Northern Regions.
Details of the tour, including dates for visits to the other regions, were, however, not contained in the statement.
The statement said Nana Akufo-Addo would be accompanied on the tour by his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; Policy Advisor, Boakye Agyarko; former Minister of State, Elizabeth Ohene and National Organiser, John Boadu.
The party’s National Women’s Organiser, Otiko Afisa Djaba; Political Assistant, Francis Asenso-Boakye; Press Secretary, Eugene Arhin; and Campaign Aides, Iddrisu Musah ‘Superior’ and Pius Hadzide would also be part of the tour, the statement said.
