The long cherished dream of a mother of triplets in Kumasi to have the two times presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, bless her lovely kids, finally came to fruition after meeting with the NPP leader last Friday.
Yaa Pokuaah, a resident of Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi, had waited unsuccessfully for the lifetime opportunity to meet face to face with the former NPP flagbearer, and when the opportunity presented itself, she did not hesitate to grab it.
The happy-looking Pokuaah, together with her mother, were beside themselves with joy at having seen the NPP leader cuddle their babies and personally blessing them.
With his right hand man, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, beside him, Nana Addo took time to embrace the kids and happily caressed them, pouring God’s blessings and mercies on the little kids.
The happy-looking Yaa Pokuaah, who has experienced her first delivery, told The Chronicle in an interview that all her life she had been dreaming of meeting Nana Addo, who she described as a political icon and an idol.
Mad. Pokuaah and her mother, The Chronicle gathered, arrived at the Georgia Hotel early in the morning, where Nana Akufo-Addo was scheduled to meet delegates of the Special College and offer his gratitude to them for his overwhelming endorsement during the Special Congress.
“My whole life I have lived and adored the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo. I am, therefore, happy to have met him today, and for the fact that he has held my three kids, I know they have a brighter future,” Yaa Pokuaah noted.
According to her, not only did her ambition come true, but it actually happened in grand style, because her kids had received the benediction of the NPP leader.
She said her only prayer was that the NPP should come to power with Nana Addo as president, so that he would be able to implement the free education policy for the benefit of the triplets and those yet unborn.
She said, she, together with her mother and the husband, agreed four months ago to name the babies after Nana Addo, hoping they would emulate his shining successes and achievements in life.
NANA ADDO’S ADMONITION
Nana Akufo-Addo, on his part, expressed gratitude for the favour, stressing he was deeply honoured by the decision to name the triplets after him.
Describing Yaa Pokuaah and her family as a blessed one, the NPP presidential aspirant admonished them to continue to pray and seek the face of God for the country, and ensure peace and tranquility for its citizenry.
On his part, a member of the Campaign Team in the Ashanti Region, Mr. George Ayisi-Boateng, urged the mother of the triplets to take good care of the kids, since the personality they had chosen to name them after was a man of high esteem and integrity.
He, therefore, promised to provide the necessary assistance that will ensure the welfare of the babies.
