Akufo-Addo increases producer price of cocoa by 0.03%

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced an increase in the producer price of cocoa from GHS3,000 to GHS3,100 per 64kg bag representing a 0.03% increase in the price set in September for the 2024/2025 crop season.

According to the president, this is a result of a decision to set cocoa prices to reflect market conditions.

Speaking during the National Farmers’ Day awards in Accra, on November 8, the President said, “On the advice of the producer price review committee, I announce an increase of the producer price of cocoa from GHS48,000 to GHS49,600 per tonne. Of GHS3,000 per bag to GHS3,100 per bag.

“This is a result of my instructions to the Minister, to ensure there are periodic reviews to restore trauma incomes.”
