Amansie South DCE, Chiefs, Others jointly Commission Modern Police Station.
The Chiefs and People of Amansie South District on Wednesday joined the District Chief Executive (DCE), Clement Opoku Gyamfi, Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia, Yaw Frimpong Addo and the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker to commission a modern Police Station at Manso Nkran, a community in the District.
The Police Station built with modern designs, has separate cells for juvenile, male and female suspects as well as separate lavatories for these category of persons.
With a big charge office and other offices for the Officers and Men to be stationed, the facility has modern washrooms for the use of the Commander and other service men.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the DCE thanked the Chiefs of the Area especially the Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah for ensuring that the project was executed to deal with crime and security issues.

Hon Opoku Gyamfi appealed to the Officers and men who will be manning the facility to deal justly with the people and enforce the laws governing conduct and behaviour of the people.
He urged them to keep an eye on the community so as to fish out criminals and thieves who previously had a field’s day in the community.
The DCE also asked the people to cooperate with the Police in the discharge of their duties by providing them with credible information and leads so that together they could work to bring crime down in the area.
“Even though the Police would be dealing with crime and security let’s make their work easy by comporting ourselves well and also assist them with information about criminal activities because security is a shared responsibility”, Hon Gyamfi stated.
Commander:
Eric Ken Winful, Ashanti South Regional Police Commander praised the District Assembly for the construction of the Police Station.
He noted that the Police administration would ensure that officers and men were posted to deliver justice and security in the community.
Deputy Minister:
George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources commended the chiefs and people for assisting government and tbe Assembly to discharge its responsibilities.
He noted that the Amansie South being a mining area was prone to all manner of activities requiring proper security controls.
The establishment of the Police station, he intimated was therefore in the right direction hence government’s support by releasing money from the Minerals Development Fund (MDF) for the construction of same.
Member of Parliament:
Yaw Frimpong Addo, Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia, thanked the Chiefs and people for their commitment to seeing to the release of land and the construction of the Police Station.
He also commended the DCE for diligently working to complete the project ahead of time and seeing to its commissioning.
He urged the people to support the Police to apply the law and deal with crime in the community so that lives and property would be protected.
“As we Inaugurate this Police station today other issues including roads that are left to be done and the commissioning of 23 new cell sites as well as others would soon follow to make life more bearable for the people in Amansie South”, the MP assured.

Nana Danso Poku II, Chief of Manso Nkran lauded the efforts of the government through the District Assembly for ensuring the construction of the Police Station.
He asked for the speedy construction of the community roads so as to help open up the town to businesses and development initiatives.
Nana Poku pledged his support to the government and asked for investments in Manso Nkran so that the youth could get jobs and make meaningful contributions to the development of the area.
