Ghana News-A vociferous youth group in the Asante Akyem North District by name Friends of Kwadwo Baah Agyeman has heaped praises on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for reinstating the Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper moments after the announcement was made public through a release signed by Eugene Arhin, Communications Director at the Presidency, an ecstatic member of the group by name Dennis Kwabena Appiah thanked the President for the gesture.
According to him, the group was very expectant of such an announcement because they knew their former choicest MP would be cleared after the Police investigation.
This expectation, he mentioned was in the confidence they have in Mr Baah Agyemang knowing that he is a principled and morally upright man who will not sell his conscience for anything enticing.
‘’We are happy that the President by virtue of his father figure patiently waited for investigations to be done and thereafter announced the exoneration of our former MP’’, the spokesperson cheerfully stressed.
PLANS:
Mentioning plans by the group, the spokesperson and aide to the former MP said they plan to welcome the NSA Board Chair this weekend.
According to him, there will be a street carnival after they have met Mr Baah Agyeman at Juansa where they will parade him through the entire Asante Akyem North District.
The group, he disclosed will also have a small party at the former MP’s residence where they will gather to thank the Lord for exonerating him.
With their membership of about thousand scattered across the communities in the district, Dennis hinted of plans to visiting a church in Agogo on Sunday to offer special thanks to the Lord for his goodness on the people of Asante-Akyem.
‘’We have planned to meet our former MP who is the Board Chair of NSA at Juansa on Friday and parade him in a convoy through the principal streets of Asante-Akyem North so that all will see what God has done’’, Dennis K Appiah mentioned.
RESPONSE:
Speaking exclusively to this reporter via the social media platform of Whatsapp, Mr Baah Agyeman credited his exoneration to God.
He said, ‘those who trust in God are careful in all that they do and in due time God also glorifies them big time’.
Mr Baah Agyeman thanked the President for reinstating him and for trusting him to carry out all the needed reforms at the NSA.
He thanked the people of Ghana for showing him support when he was asked to step aside for investigations to begin into the infamous Australia scandal.
