Ashanti NPP trains women organizers ahead of 2020 polls

The Ashanti Regional Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has trained its constituency and deputy women organizers across the region.

The workshop, an initiative by the Regional Organizer, Francis Adomako with support from the Regional Women’s organizer, Nana Ama Ampomah was aimed at equipping the women ahead of the 2020 polls.

It was also tailored to help the women get the requisite education on how to be effective in the offices they hold and operate.

Speaking to this reporter last Friday, Francis Adomako revealed the training will be in series to ensure every wing of the party is abreast of current trends of operating and functioning.

‘’The Ashanti Regional Branch is determined to give the people we work with at the constituency and polling station level the requisite education and training to ensure they function effectively in the offices they hold’’, Mr Adomako stressed passionately.

The regional organizer explained that every wing is designed to have its own kind of training as and when they take their turn.

Resource persons with in-depth knowledge about party organization, Mr Adomako intimated has been selected to take the groups through a refined form of orientation.

This measure, he stressed is to ensure the party gets prepared for both in-house and external duties all the time.

He stressed the importance of getting such training, adding the party’s officers apart from receiving training will also be empowered to react to issues sharply at all times.

‘’ Today we brought in Dr Bernard Brenyah, Education and Capacity Building Consultant so that he could imbibe into our women the tutorials needed for them to function effectively in their offices and thereby help us prosecute a better campaign ahead of the 2020 polls’’, Francois posited.

WOMEN’S ORGANIZER:

Speaking to this reporter, Nana Ama Ampomah, Ashanti Regional Women Organizer commended the initiative by the regional organizer and urged that other branches of the party follow suit.

She insisted such periodic training was important so as to enable officers operate their offices effectively.

With the current technological advancement in the world, Nana Ama noted any party that stays with colonial mentality will pay dearly for it in election periods.

She, therefore, urged the women to go back to their various constituencies and pass on the knowledge they have acquired to make their members and subordinates better.

‘’I am happy for the opportunity we have had to share and impart knowledge and I believe such periodic training workshops will arm us with better skills to function properly and effectively at the offices we hold and also prosecute a radical campaign to retain power in 2020’’, Nana Ama passionately noted.
