The Ashanti Regional Women’s Wing of the New Patriotic Party last Friday presented medical supplies, food items and toiletries to inmates at the Kumasi Main Prisons.
The wing also treated the inmates and Prison Authorities to sumptuous meals as they wined, dined and danced together.
Speaking to the media after presenting the items, Nana Ama Ampomah, the regional women’s organiser expressed happiness about the initiative of the party’s wing.
She noted that prisoners are the most forgotten people in society hence the decision by the women to remember them on Valentine’s day.
“My brother we decided to visit the prisons to show them love and to remind the inmates that they have not been forgotten”, Madam Ampomah stated.
