The Ashanti Regional Police Command Monday launched an Operation called “Father Christmas”. They say this operation will help fight crime during the days preceding the Christmas festivities and during the Christmas festivities.
Criminals take advantage of the Christmas season to commit a myriad of crimes.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander; COP Ampofo Duku however says the Police have adopted new strategies to deal with criminals during and after the Christmas festivities.
COP Duku who was speaking at a Press Conference added that Operation Father Christmas will also help deal with the seasonal traffic jams in town as many Police personnel will be deployed to help man traffic.
“Furthermore, check points at various areas will be increased and police patrols will be consistent.
He advise traders entering the city not to hold physical cash but stick to Mobile money to avoid attacks.
