Asokwa NPP gets campaign team, tasked to win 90% popular votes

 

The Asokwa Constituency of the New Patriotic Party Tuesday noon inaugurated its campaign team with Rev Benjamin Fosu Nkromah as Chairman.

The incumbent Member of Parliament, Madam Patricia Appiagyei and Chief Akwannuasa Gyimah, MCE for Asokwa were named among the team members as well as all constituency officers.

Taking the oath of office at the Ahensan Youth Center, the over 30 members including Mr Robert Asare Bediako, long serving former constituency chairman promised to keep to the dictates of the team’s mandate.

The team lead by Benjamin Fosu Nkromah also pledged to undertake a well coordinated and oiled campaign ahead of the 2020 general elections.

REGIONAL OFFICER’S CHARGE:
Administering the oath of office to the campaign team earlier on, Nana Ama Ampomah, Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser urged the team to work  with unity to achieve the target of 90% vote in both the parliamentary and presidential election.

She reminded them that it was unity of purpose that enabled the NPP win the 2016 elections and asked that same be maintained to retain power in the upcoming polls in December.

Madam Ampomah rallied members of the team to devise simple strategies to conduct outdoor campaigns.

She asked that members remain mindful of the threat of COVID-19 and adhere to all the protocols associated with same.

MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT:
Speaking to this reporter, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, MP for Asokwa promised to work her socks out for the NPP.

She noted a second term of office for Nana Addo would present the Ghanaian an opportunity to see proper development of the country as well as the completion of projects embarked upon in its first term.

Madam Appiagyei urged members to ensure both the President and her humble self as parliamentary candidate maximise votes in the upcoming polls.

“I am giving you my word on behalf of colleague team members that we will do our part and work to maximise the votes for the NPP on December 7”, the MP stressed.

OTHER SPEAKERS:
Robert Ahomka-Lindsay, Deputy Minister for Trade as well as Frederick Fredua Anto, NPP national vice chair urged the team members to play their roles efficiently and effectively to enable the NPP retain power in the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
