PRESS STATEMENT BY ASOKWA NPP YOUTH.
ASOKWA NPP YOUTH SUPPORTS CHIEF AKWANNUASAH GYIMAH FOR A SECOND TERM AS MCE.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the media.
We thank you for accepting to be present at our press conference at such a short notice.
Our mission this morning is simple and it is about the development of our constituency and the Asokwa Municipality.
We the Youth wing of the NPP having monitored the establishment of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly for the past two years since its inauguration as a Municipality, we believe that the excellent work which has been started by the first chief executive officer, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah would be complete if he is asked to continue in same capacity as MCE.
The Youth wing also believes strongly that with the effective collaboration of the Assembly and office of the Member of Parliament, proper development will come to Asokwa in this second term of the party in government.
It is our firm conviction that with the commencement of projects such as the construction of school blocks in communities such as Atonsu S-Line (Sukuria Primary school), Gyinyase (Gyinyase MA and JHS) and the construction of ICT centers in schools across the Municipality our MCE would do more if he is allowed to continue as head of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly.
With the operationalisation of the Lady Julia Health Center at Kuwait-Oti immediately after assuming office as MCE, Chief Akwannuasa showed that the health needs of the people was his priority.
Furthermore, the drilling of 10 boreholes and another 34 including toilet facilities having been approved by the World Bank to be constructed this year in the electoral areas in Asokwa, our MCE has also shown that he is focussed in getting the people of Asokwa basic social amenities.
With two consistent impressive showings in its administrative processes, it is not surprising that Asokwa has been selected on two occasions to benefit from the Secondary City Projects which gives the Municipal Assembly opportunity to get at least 1 million dollars to commence development projects.
We are also glad to say that many youth in our party have had the opportunity to be gainfully employed at the Assembly since the MCE took office.
Electricians, carpenters and other artisans in Asokwa through the MCE’s initiative have been given opportunity to work at the Assembly as well as other private and multinational companies in Asokwa including Chigo Company Limited, the construction firm undertaking the roads development in Asokwa.
It is also worth mentioning that during the outbreak of COVID-19, the MCE led the way to provide for the needs of Persons with disabilities (PWDs), the underprivileged and the aged with the distribution of basic food items and safety items including the purchasing and placement of hand washing items at all markets in Asokwa.
We are also glad to say that our MCE gave his all during the campaign and operations at the day of voting in election 2020.
With all these projects, initiatives and contributions from our MCE coupled with the excellent relations he has with our chiefs and people as well as the MP, Madam Patricia Appiagyei and the entire executives of the NPP, we believe our MCE with another mandate in office as leader of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly will do more for our party and the people of Asokwa.
We, therefore, through you, the media want to humbly appeal to the President to honour the people of Asokwa with the renewal of the mandate of our hard working MCE, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah so that he can complete the massive infrastructure projects and initiatives he has started with the hard working assembly men in the Asokwa Municipal Assembly.
4 more for Chief Akwannuasa Gyimah, four more for him to do more!
Maintain Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah now!!!
Thank you.
Signed.
Frank Bosompim Danso
Asokwa Constituency Youth Organiser for NPP.
