Some Assembly members in the Kumasi Metropolis want the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA); Kojo Bonsu, investigated for allegedly misappropriating funds during his tenure.
The call comes barely a day after Mr. Bonsu announced his resignation, following pressure from the Kumasi Traditional Council for disrespecting their authority.
Addressing a Press conference Wednesday, the Assembly member for Abusuakruwa electoral area, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, hinted that they have already petitioned the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), asking for investigations into the dealings of the former KMA boss.
Citing some instances of financial malfeasance on the part of Mr. Bonsu, Mr. Boakye stated that, the cost of the development of the Rattray Park had been inflated.
The Assembly members also commended the Kumasi Traditional Council for spearheading the resignation of the Mayor.
They were clad in all white holding white handkerchiefs to show how excited they were about the dismissal of the former KMA boss.
