Over 500 people living with neuro disorders in the Northern region have benefited from a free health screening organized by the Autism Foundation in collaboration with the National Assessment Centre.
They were thoroughly examined for various conditions including malaria, eye defects, autism and more.
Mrs Amoafowaa Sefa Cecilia; Northern regional President of the Autism Foundation said, it was part of efforts to bring health to the poor, vulnerable and people with neuro disorders.
She tells rawgist.com correspondent Michael Amoateng, her outfit is eager to help improve the health of neglected people. There is the need to help them access quality health. ”
She therefore assured that, the foundation would continue to organize such screening from time to time.
Dr Prince Abror , Acting Head of National Assessment Centre and Assistant Audiologist advised parents, family members and opinion leaders to care for people with neuro disorders, “such people could contribute to society if they are properly trained and cared for.”
Residents were encouraged to send people with neuro disorders and autism to school since they can learn vocations and contribute meaningfully to society.
