Ghana boxing legend, Barimah Zoom Zoom Azumah Nelson, has revealed that he is ready to give back to society whatever he can offer to ensure that the boxing industry grows to international standards.
In an interview, Azumah disclosed that he had had a very fruitful meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga, and that, attempts are being made to ensure that boxing is recognized as one of the best disciplines in Ghana.
Azumah also admitted that he has to do something for the society that made him who he is today to also ensure that talents are unearthed and developed.
“I have to do something. There is something I have to give back to the society. And if today is the time I have to rise up and respond to the call of society, why not, I am ever ready to do whatever they will tell me to do”, Azumah said.
Azumah had met with the Minister of Youth and Sports who appointed the boxing legend as an Ambassador of the sport to ensure that proper structures are instituted for the development of the game.
