Residents of Bantama Abrepo – Junction in the Kumasi are unhappy with the closure of a school in the area.
They woke up to news that the Bantama Block A Junior High school had been closed down and the pupils distributed to nearby schools. The teachers are also standing by to be re-posted.
Joana Somiah reports that the school is being handed over to the Adventist Senior High school to use.
The residents however disagree with authorities as far as the decision is concerned. They seem to have quite an emotional attachment to the school. They say that school has produced many prominent citizens and should not be closed down.
The assembly member for the Abrepo junction electoral area Hon. Desmond Amankwa who is equally unhappy with the closure is pointing accusing fingers at the Metro Director of Education; Mrs. Martha Owusu Agyemang for the closure.
