BE LOYAL TO NPP, DEFEND IT IN PUBLIC—-MAMA PAT CHARGES ASOKWA DELEGATES.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei has charged delegates and officers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stay resolute behind the same at all times.
She also urged them to defend the party’s developmental programs and policies in public and at every place they find themselves.
Addressing over 750 delegates who were zoned into three groups to allow for the observance of the COVID-19 protocols at the Gyamfua Asenso Park, Madam Appiagyei rallied members to be proud of the performance of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government for the work done so far.
Mama Pat, as the legislator is fondly called, asked that those who have grievances or issues about party organization or activities channel the same to the administrators of the party whose offices remain open every day of the week for redress.
‘’You must be loyal to the NPP and our government once you identify with it as a delegate or member and defend the party’s policies and programs in public. You are not to join NDC propagandists to castigate or insult the party or government in public’’, Mama Pat charged.
MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE:
Addressing the delegates later, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokwa commended the delegates for their dedicated service to the party over the years.
He noted that the 2020 general election was not an easy one but said the efforts of members in the campaign ensured that the public placed their confidence in the NPP and voted for the same.
On the part of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly, Chief Akwannuasah said the creation of Asokwa and its elevation to a Municipal status meant that development was now at its doorsteps.
So far, he noted that with the support of the MP almost all the roads in Asokwa which were unmotorable and others that had deteriorated had been worked on and given a befitting status.
ASOKWA NPP EXECUTIVES:
Giving account for the performance of the party in government, Papa Yaw Asare Bediako said the MP for Asokwa had been able to lobby for 20 persons in Asokwa to have employment in the security services.
He noted that NABCO and the Youth Employment Agency as well as the Planting for Food and Jobs under the Agric Ministry had created jobs for over 200 people in Asokwa.
Reverend Benjamin Fosu Nkromah, Asokwa NPP chairman acknowledged the hard work of the party’s delegates and members and noted all will be given certificates at the end of the conference.
He noted that for the NPP to have retained its member of parliament, Madam Patricia Appiagyei for a third consecutive time and gotten enough votes to return President Akufo-Addo into office meant that the party members gave their all in the campaign and electioneering.
Felix Appiah, Asokwa NPP treasurer gave account of expenditure and income of the party and urged party members to make inquiries at the party’s office at Atonsu anytime they have difficulty in understanding anything or issues about their welfare.
REGIONAL EXECUTIVE:
Mr Kwesi Kyei Danso, Regional Party representative at the conference urged Asokwa delegates to remain focused in working to retain the NPP in government.
He stressed that the longer the NPP stays in power the better Ghana would be since more developmental projects would be undertaken to grant the youth employment avenues and in so doing make the Ghanaian economy better.
SPECIAL ADVISOR:
Addressing the delegates later on, Mr Asare Bediako, the former and longest serving constituency chairman for Asokwa said having the NPP in power meant getting better opportunities for employment for themselves and family members.
