Mr George Lawson, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy General Secretary in charge of operations has called on members to be united and work hard to achieve victory for the party in the 2016 general elections.
He said internal elections are the beauty of democracy and urged party faithfuls to put behind them the outcomes of the elections and come on board and work collectively to achieve a common goal.
Mr Lawson, who was speaking at Aplaku during the elections of the executives of the Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, said the task ahead was very difficult and urged all the newly elected executives to be prepared to take up the mantle and win more votes for the party.
He congratulated members of the Constituency for organizing a peaceful and successful election and urged them to start the grassroots campaign to ensure total victory for the NDC in the 2016 general elections.
Mr Wilson Hope Kokah, the newly elected Chairman, polled 139 votes to beat the other two contestants.
He pledged his support and dedication to work with all in the constituency to ensure victory for the party in 2016.
“Today’s victory only affirmed my hard work and dedication towards party activities. I worked tirelessly with everybody at the grassroots and I will continue to be with the grassroots and work harder to attract new members as well as sympathizers to the party,” he added.
He called on all those who did not secure their positions to join hands with the newly elected executives to achieve a common goal.
Mr Kokah, a retired Police Officer and the immediate past Constituency Secretary, pledged to use his experience to unite the party members, mobilize them from the grassroots “to do the magic for NDC come 2016”.
Others, who were elected for the various positions are Mr Isaac Akroboto, Constituency Organiser, Mr Ezekiel Musthapha Nanor , Deputy Organizer, Sheriff Nii Otoo Doudo, Treasurer, Richmond Hacklin, Deputy Treasurer, Mawuyram K.K. Asai, Youth Organizer, and Nartey Dawuod, Deputy Youth Organizer.
The others are Mr Emmanuel Ardey Ansah, Deputy Chairman, Mr Samuel Ampiah, Secretary, Mr Gyatsen Kweku, Deputy Secretary, Carole Ann Akati, Women Organizer, Millicent Naa Ayele Attoh, Deputy Women Organizer, Allotey Rockson, Propaganda Secretary and Prince Bilal Estsri Deputy Propaganda Secretary, who went unopposed.
Ms Catherine Nyatuame, Deborah Mensah, Peter Ben Gozar, Alex Nyatuame Sena, Zormelo Godwin, Tsakpo Yao, Thompson Prosper, and Wisdom Akansi were elected as Constituency Executives.
Earlier, Mr Bright Demordzi, Member of Parliament for the Constituency, appealed for a peaceful and successful election, saying, “this is an internal process of electing our leaders and we have gone through the processes already and I pledge to work with anybody you will elect today to run the affairs of this Constituency”.
Officers from the Ga South Municipality Electoral Commission led by Mr Kwabla Appiah Aryee, District Electoral Officer conducted the election.
Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency is made up of 89 branches.
