The chiefs and people of Minti, a farming community in the Bosome Freho District last Thursday could not hide their joy after taking delivery of food stuff and hand washing items from Rock-hill Minerals Limited, a registered small scale mining company.
Expressing delight, the chiefs said they were overwhelmed by the gesture.
According to the secretary to the traditional council, Enoch Boadu Amaniampong the donation is the single largest they had received from any firm or individual.
He commended the Mining company for the gesture and prayed for a long lasting relationship between themselves so that collectively they could help develop the deprived Minti community.
APPEAL:
The Chiefs through the Secretary appealed to the owner of the Mining company, Mr E.K Agyemang to help complete a CHP compound as well as a five class room block for the community.
The two projects, the secretary noted are priority for the community.
He revealed that the town have had to rush sick persons as well as pregnant women to the adjoining communities to seek medical care anytime there was emergency.
The CHP compound, the secretary noted was at the completion stage while the school block was close to the lentel level.
“We are happy to have Rock-Hill Minerals Limited partner us to develop our community and we believe the completion of both the CHP compound facility and the school block would start the development process for Mintin”, the secretary noted.
ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER:
Speaking on behalf of the CEO, Nana Yaw Brempong Owusu, administrative manager of the company expressed delight at the reception from the chiefs and people of Minti.
He noted that Rock-hill was committed to developing the community while deploying acceptable methods of mining on the concessions it has in Minti.
Mr Frank Appiah, Director of Rock-hill Limited also pledged the commitment of the company to seeing to the welfare of the community.
He noted that nothing is pleasant than helping to develop the very community one has his investments located.
Items donated by Rock-hill were bags of rice, cooking oil, boxes of sardines as well as hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, washing soap and bundles of tissue paper.
