New BOST MD; Edwin A. Provencal
The Board of Directors of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) have confirmed Mr. Edwin A. Provencal as new Managing Director of the Company.
Mr. Provencal’s appointment follows the resignation of the former MD of the company; Mr. George Mensah Okley last Friday. The reasons for Mr. Okley’s resignation has not been officially communicated.
His resignation was however communicated to the staff Union on Monday [August 26, 2016] at an emergency meeting of the board. The staff members were also briefed about his replacement; Mr. Edwin Provencal.
A statement released by the company and signed by Board Chairman Ekow Hackman assured stakeholders and the general public that it will work with the new MD and the entire workforce to ensure uninterrupted operations of the company.
Until his appointment, Mr. Edwin A. Provencal was a Technical Advisor to the Minister of Energy and has also held a number of Executive Management positions in various organizations.
“He has through his balanced scorecard expertise transformed various companies including Vodafone wholesale/National Communications Backbone Company, leapfrogging from third to second in revenue market share in the telecoms industry. He led ExZeed Company limited to become the premier contact centre in Ghana. He is also a founding member of the Ghana Association of IT services and Companies (GASSCOM) and has over 15 years of Project Management experience” the statement revealed.
The statement also revealed that he holds Mphil in Economics and MBA in Information Systems, a BSc in Electrical Engineering, a Post-graduate Diploma in Financial Management from ACCA and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. He is also a graduate of the college of Executive Coaching in the USA and has been a certified Balanced Scorecard Practitioner since 2006.
