The Ashanti regional First Vice Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Nana AKwasi Augustus, Andrews, has appealed to former appointees of the erstwhile John Mahama led NDC government to contribute resources to help the party recapture political power in 2020.
He tells this reporter the NPP government’s handling of the economy is a clear indication that, the NDC has the chance of winning power in the next General elections.
According to him, most of the electorates voted for the NPP based on the numerous campaign promises they made to Ghanaians. He however feels the NPP is struggling to deliver on those promises. He says the current struggle of the NPP government is an indication that the people of Ghanaian have realized the truth and are now yearning for the NDC to come back.
He noted that, the task before the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to settle their differences as early as possible and remain a united political force aiming at winning 2020.
He insisted that, the governing NPP promised all Ghanaian children in the Senior High Schools free education. He is however sorely disappointed that only first years are being included.
He also chided the government for aggressive borrowing contrary to their campaign messages against borrowing.
He says unemployment among nurses and trained teachers from the various tertiary institutions remain high, while there are still no jobs for the young graduates.
