One of the contenders for the Suame parliamentary seat in the NDC is likely to unveil his objective for trying to secure the parliamentary candidature of the constituency under the auspices of his party; the NDC on Saturday, 14th November, 2015.
Brogya Genfi who is also the Ashanti regional youth organizer of the NDC will make some revelations after a walk through the principal streets of the Suame Constituency.
All registered voters within the NDC and other individuals have been invited for the walk which will begin from the Nurom Hotel and end at the Embassy Hotel where some NDC heavyweights will address the gathering on a variety of issues.The walk is scheduled to begin at 11am.
Though rawgist.com is certain the parliamentary aspirant will reveal his objectives for contesting the party’s primaries, it remains unclear if he will go further to outline his vision for the constituency.
Brogya Genfi is one of the champions of the NDC’s one million vote challenge in the Ashanti region and it will be interesting to see how the NDC will fare in his constituency.
Brogya Genfi was born and bred in the Suame constituency where his family remains one of the largest and influential. His grandfather; the late Nana Kofi Genfi II was the owner of Nurom Hotels Ltd. He was also member of parliament under the Busia regime together with former President J.A Kufour, J.H Mensah and others and was a founding member of the NPP.
Brogya Genfi’s uncle; Boateng Genfi, is also a strong politician howbeit with the NPP who lost to the incumbent MP during the NPP’s primaries.
The Suame constituency seat has been held by Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for about twenty years. His tenure has however bred apathy in the constituency and even in the NPP there; a situation Brogya Genfi believes will play out in his favour when voted Parliamentary candidate during the party’s primaries later this month.
