Editor in chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako Jnr. has advised the Ashanti Regional youth organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC), Brogya Genfi to learn lessons from the dismissal of the Ashanti Regional Minister and his Deputy.
According to Mr Baako, the dismissal of Dr Samuel Sarpong and Joseph Yammin can affect the machinery of the ruling party not only in the region but also nationwide.
A statement issued by the Minister for Communications Dr. Edward Omane Boamah Wednesday morning said the appointments of the Ashanti regional minister and his deputy have been withdrawn with immediate effect.
It said the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Eric Opoku is to act as Ashanti Regional Minister until a substantive Minister is appointed.
Though the statement did not give reasons for the dismissal ,there have been tensions between the former Minister Dr Sarpong and his deputy, Mr Yammin and the Ashanti regional executives of the ruling NDC for some time now.
Speaking on Peace fm’s Kokrokoo, Mr Baako said, Brogya Genfi as a regional party executive must not take sides between Dr Sarpong and his deputy when there is a seeming rift between them.
“The matter should be taken seriously and Brogya Genfi should have not taken sides in this instance,” he stressed.
The Editor and outspoken social commentator described Dr Sarpong as a good leader and a gentleman and added that the current development was in the right direction since the President has the power to hire or fire.
