The Acting General Manager of MTN in charge of the Northern Business District, Mrs Adwoa Baah Afrakoma Obeng has advised the youth to set their eyes on mentors who can best help them to fulfill their goals in life.
According to her, many have lost their desired path in life because they did not get good mentors to help them meander their way through.
Addressing participants at this year’s springboard road show event at the auditorium of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) in Ayigya, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis, Mrs Obeng said she had become what she is today because she had elders and mentors guiding in the steps she took.
These guidance and counselling sessions with parents and elders, she noted helped her to avoid pitfalls many had experienced.
“It is important that once you decide on the path you want to take you identify the right persons who could help you chart same and become who you want to be in life”, Mrs Baah Obeng advised.
COMMITMENT:
Speaking to the media later, the MTN Executive noted that her outfit is committed to supporting the Springboard platform in helping the youth identify their talents and vision early in life.
According to her, having supported springboard these 12 years MTN has realised that the partnership has contributed to the shaping of destinies of many youth.
She said it is encouraging the kind of attendances and participation the platform continues to record, adding that MTN was offering the Pulse platform to build a lasting relationship with the youth.
Mrs Obeng noted that issues such as leadership, integrity, innovation and industry that are taught at springboard seminars form part of MTN’s values and ideals.
SPRINGBOARD EXECUTIVE:
Addressing participants earlier, Comfort Ocran, Co-founder and Executive Director of Springboard Roadshow admonished the youth to study to identify their strengths early in life.
She noted that guidance becomes easy when one is focused on what she or he wants to do in life.
Mrs Ocran asked the youth to read wide about the areas they would want to concentrate in their profession.
The modern youth, she posited is the one who knows what he or she wants to do at every particular time and pursues same with passion and integrity.
