The MTN Ghana Foundation is set to construct a bleeding center for the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
MTN Ghana Foundation has already cut sod for the construction of the multipurpose building.
Hospital officials say a lot of pregnant women die during delivery at the hospital due to lack of blood, hence their swift action to salvage the situation at hand.
The Acting Northern Sector Manager of MTN Ghana; Adjoa Afrakoma Baah Obeng revealed this at the company’s annual blood donation exercise dubbed “Save a Life” which is held yearly on the 14th of February 2020 to collect lifesaving blood to stock the blood banks country wide.
Since 2011 MTN Ghana foundation has collected 14, 000 pints of blood from donors to support quality health care delivery in the country.
This year’s exercise in the Ashanti region took place in three Institutions namely: Kumasi Technical Institute (K.T.I), T. I Amass and Katanga Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
