The Project Coordinator of Ghana Brazil 2014 World Cup, Fred Darko has said, each of the three caterers employed by the committee to cook for the supporters sent to Brazil to support the Black Stars received $17, 200 as service charge. The charge, according to Darko, was for the services provided, by the caterers who also came along with three workers each.
The caterers were; Amber’s Food Services, Monique Food Services and Kenkey Boutique.
Darko, said, the charge excludes, the use of their utensils, food stuffs, accommodation and airfare adding that, they were taken care of by the committee.
According to Darko, the charge covered 15 days of services rendered by the caterers during the trip.
His statement sharply contradicts that of the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who earlier told the committee that, each caterer, received $5,000 dollars as honorarium.
When asked whether he was aware of the figure by the former minister, Darko, said he was not aware of the statement made by the ex-minister Youth and Sports minister and insisted each caterer received $17,200.
Darko, ended his three day appearance before the Commission on Thursday and was discharged after the marathon session.
Justice Senyo Dzamefe, said, “well on behalf of the commission, you are discharged for now, but whenever we need you, we shall invite you”.
