Mrs Joyce Obeng, co-founder and wife of founder of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), Reverend Ransford Obeng will be laid to rest this Saturday.
Having been born in 1955, Mrs Obeng bid the husband and the entire CCC congregation a very chilling good bye in the early days of December 2019.
Her departure marks a life lived in the church she helped to bring into being with the husband in 1985.
A pillar and prayer warrior, Mrs Obeng’s call to duty and tenacity in prayer helped to breathe the revival spirit into CCC, making the church a famous name in the body of Christ.
Giving birth to Eunice and Joshua, the prayerful attribute of Mama Joyce, a name fondly conferred on her by CCC members is seen in these two children with the latter having been ordained as reverend minister.
ACTIVITIES:
As preparations wore on before Saturday, the leadership of CCC has put in place series of activities to precede the final send off and memorial service on Saturday, the 4th of January, 2020.
On Friday, the 3rd of January, a music and worship event has been put together to honour the memory of the hymn- loving former mother of CCC.
Making a guest appearance at this event will be the preaching minister of worship music, Chris Delvan Gwamna of Nigeria fame.
Other music groups billed to perform are selected groups of CCC worship teams from the Bono, Ahafo and Ashanti regions including the famous Charisma group based at the headquarters of the Church.
BURIAL:
At exactly 7am Saturday morning, the Founder and the entire CCC congregation will be at the burial grounds near the church’s youth ministry to carry out a solemn burial ceremony where the remains of Mrs Obeng will be laid in state and later interred into the ground.
At exactly 9am, same day, a special memorial service will be held at the auditorium of CCC where the Founder of ICGC, Dr Mensa Otabil is billed to officiate the service.
The family and the leadership of the Church have decided to bring the funeral to a close at midday when the memorial service is over.
Meanwhile tributes from many in Ghana and across the continents of the world have started pouring in with each telling how Mama Joyce’s life impacted on them.
The church has asked that in honour of the late mother and the service she rendered to CCC all members and non-members wear black and white for all the ceremonies preceding her burial as well as the burial and memorial service from Friday to Sunday, which will be a normal thanksgiving service.
