Several members of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), last Saturday took over the Kumasi Metropolis with street evangelism.
The drive was to respond to the call from the Head Pastor of the Church, Reverend Ransford Obeng for members to win one more soul for Jesus.
Though evangelism is the heartbeat of the charismatic church, however, last Saturday’s outreach was more pronounced since it was geared towards giving honour to Christ as Easter the very occasion that is used by Christians to remember his death and resurrection draws close.
Going in their respective community groupings, scores of members draped in their CCC T-shirts toured the principal streets in suburbs such as Kwadaso, Manhyia, Asokwa, Bantama, Nhyiaeso, Asafo as well as others to share the word of God with pedestrians, storekeepers, shop attendants, receptionists, barbers as well as food sellers.
ASOKWA COMMUNITY:
Visiting the Asokwa community early on Saturday, Leaders and members of the School for Christian Development (SCD) had converged at the Asokwa Presbyterian school park.
Sharing materials meant for the evangelism to members, Elder Duut, Mr John Azu, Mr Isaac Antwi and other leaders also charged members to use their lives to testify about Christ to the residents and those they meet on the way.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper later, Mr John Azu expressed delight at the opportunity by the Asokwa group to witness to their fellow residents.
He noted the desire of the church leadership to see every soul in Kumasi won for Christ even as the Easter draws nigh.
‘’I am happy with the enthusiasm shown by Asokwa community members and with desire to win one more soul for Christ I believe we can win Kumasi for Christ’’, Mr Azu posited passionately.
EXPERIENCES:
Sharing his experience with this reporter, Eric Nsiah Adutwum, a member of the Asokwa CCC community said this was the third time he was participating in the one soul for Christ evangelism project by the church.
He noted that it was fulfilling sharing the word of God with others and asked that all CCC members join anytime there is opportunity to do so since that helps to solidify one in the Lord.
Mrs Theresah Owusu Ansah, another Asokwa member expressed her joy for being able to speak to others about Christ.
She asked Christians to share their faith with others, adding that is the only way the world will be won for Christ.
‘’I feel so happy telling others about Christ because I know what the Lord has done in my life since I became a Christian and I know the Lord will show same kindness to those who believe in Him’’, Mrs Owusu Ansah noted passionately.
