Dr Seth Baah, President of Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry has entreated members not to abuse the privileges the body has at the country’s foreign missions.
He said: “The international community has confidence in us (Ghana) and we need not to use the chamber as connection platforms for personal gains.”
The President of the Chamber made the plea during a ceremony to induct into office interim officials to manage the activities of Sekondi/Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STCCI) in Takoradi in the Western Region.
The interim Officers have Mr Issa Ouedraogo, a Social Entrepreneur and UN award winner as the Chairman, Reverend Georgina Nyame, Vice Chairperson, Michael Darkwa Treasurer.
The others are: Nana Kweku Duah, Hajia Alimatu Abdual, Stephen Abass and Mrs Charlotte Afful as new council members.
The event took place at the wake of the breakaway of some team leaders of the association on June 30.
Mr Ato Van-Ess, Chairman, Vincent Annan, Executive Secretary and Cadmond Dadzie, Business Consultant seceded from the Chamber citing gross mismanagement on the part of the National Executives.
Dr Baah however, refuted the allegations leveled against them and said, transfers, payments of allowances and per diem are all done in consultation with Council members of the Chamber.

Mr Ouedraogo called for unity and team work in lifting the image of the Chamber in the Region.
