Chief Of Staff Presents 2, 400 Sanitary Pads To Students In Kumasi Metro.
Ghana’s Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Hon Akosua Frema Osei Opare has presented 2, 400 pieces of sanitary pads to Schools under the Kumasi metro.
At Tuesday’s International Menstrual Hygiene Day which was organised by the Live The Dream Foundation, a non- governmental organisation (NGO) at the Adventist Day Senior High School in Bantama, spokesperson for the Chief of Staff, Madam Afua Kyeiwaah, Market Queen at Kejetia Race Course said it was important that girls are supported to know how to keep themselves neat and tidy during their menstrual periods.
The Chief of Staff believes that parents could best guide their wards in how to keep themselves clean during the time of the month where blood flows, the representative noted.
“Madam Frema Osei Opare is committed to doing her part to help women stay healthy and clean. She, by this donation of 2,400 pieces of sanitary pads to these female students is supporting them to keep themselves clean in their menstrual periods”, Madam Kyeiwaah stressed.

Madam Frema through the spokesperson asked school authorities to periodically educate their students on how to keep themselves tidy during menstrual periods.
She noted that how they keep themselves during that time of the month has an effect on their mental health and overall hygiene.

Madam Frema also charged parents to be responsible for how their females turn out in public and teach them how to be clean at all times even when they are in the mentrual periods.
“I charge all of us as teachers and parents as well as stakeholders in the upkeep of children to ensure that we periodically educate our female wards to know how to deal with their menstrual issues so they can become neat at all times”, Madam Kyeiwaah stated.
Metro Education Directorate:
Mrs Joana Quarshie Jnr, a representative of the Metro Education Director thanked the NGO for showing interest for students especially the female student.
She also praised the motherly and humanitarian actions of the Chief of Staff, Hon Akosua Frema Osei Opare.
She noted that the donation of 2,400 pieces of sanitary pads was a show of proper care and kindness to female students.
“We are grateful for the kindness of the Chief of Staff and we thank the organisers of this event for the commitment to educating female students on how to keep themselves tidy during their menstrual periods” the Metro Education Officer posited.
Live The Dream Foundation:
Madam Abigail Sarfo, Executive Director of the Live the Dream Foundation thanked the Chief of Staff for the donation of the pads.
She also revealed that Hon Frema Osei Opare supported in the organisation of the event and facilitated many aspects for them.
The Live the Dream Foundation, she disclosed was concerned about the health of students especially females.
“We decided to use this year’s international menstrual hygiene day to reach out to schools in the Kumasi metro and particularly schools in the Bantama district so that we could educate them on how to keep themselves tidy and also present to them some sanitary pads”, the Executive Director noted.
