Chieftaincy Minister, NPP General Secretary Pay Tribute To Late John Kumah
The Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng says the death of John Ampontuah Kumah was tragic and saddening.
According to the Minister, apart from it being untimely it also has the potential of destabilising things the former legislator was doing both for government and the Ejisu constituency.
The Chieftaincy Minister spoke to this reporter last Saturday when he together with the Vice President, Dr Mahamodu Bawumia and hundreds of mourners paid their last respects to the late MP when he was laid in state before burial.
“It saddens me to see such an industrious person like John Kumah pass on having had only 45 years to live. However just like the Vice President noted he led a quality life and may his legacy be emulated by the youth of this country”, Hon Asamoah Boateng stated.
General Secretary of NPP:
On his part, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, General Secretary of the NPP said the NPP has lost a gem who showed great skill in the field he operated and in politics.
He noted that John Kumah was a team player and was always available to discuss strategy and development.
Lawyer Kodua stressed that the NPP would miss the former Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Ejisu constituency.
“We have lost a great party man, human being and strategist but we are consoled that his legacy will influence positively the lives of the youth of Ghana 🇬🇭 “, the General Secretary posited.
Wife:
Lilian Kumah, wife of the deceased former Deputy Minister and MP said their relationship was something she will forever cherish.
She noted that the late John Kumah even before marriage became a teacher, motivator and inspiration to her.
Mrs Kumah said even though their marriage was not a perfect one it would pass off as one of the best in the country because they applied themselves to live with the principles of Christ Jesus.
“JK, you’re gone but you will always be my hero, compassionate friend and inspiration and i promise to make you proud by upholding your legacy and quality of life”, the wife stated with teary eyes.
Additional Information:
Earlier in the day, there were tributes from the Family, Children, the Vice President, Parliament of Ghana 🇬🇭, the Finance Ministry, the Young Patriots, a group founded by the late MP and lastly from the church ⛪.
Sermon:
Preaching the sermon before the burial, Reverend Eastwood Anaba of the Fountain Gate Chapel stated that there were two places one could choose to spend eternity, adding it is either heaven or hell.
He noted that one could attain eternal life and make heaven by choosing to accept Christ Jesus as a personal Saviour and by committing to live the Christian life.
However, he stated that any life that is lived outside the dictates of Christ as written in the Bible would mean alienation from God and the end thereof will be an eternity without God and that was hell.
“Once we are born into the world we would be open to choose a life with God or without him and as John Kumah lies here his fate is determined by the choice he has made and i pray as he chose God’s side, we should also choose same so we can spend eternity with God in heaven”, Reverend Eastwood urged.
