Communication Minister Partners Prestige Group on One Million Coders Program

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has met with the Prestige Group of Companies to explore potential partnerships aimed at empowering talent through the One Million Coders program.

The meeting, held on Monday in Accra, focuses on enhancing digital literacy, IT skills, and specialized training for participants.

The Minister expressed enthusiasm for the initiative of equipping the youth with the skills needed to thrive in a digital economy.

During the presentation, the Prestige Group outlined a comprehensive three-level program, starting with basic digital literacy training for three months, which will equip participants with foundational skills.

Following this, an intermediate IT training for six months, focusing on web development and digital design to enhance technical capabilities.

The final level involves advanced specialization over a 12-month period, which includes research-driven projects, capstone projects, and globally recognized certifications to prepare participants for the demands of the industry.

Prestige Group has partnered with notable universities like Valley View and GIMPA and international organizations such as Coursera, Microsoft Learn and Cisco Network Agency, to provide recognized certifications.

Coursera will offer access to online courses and certifications, while Microsoft Learn will provide specialized training and certifications in Microsoft technologies. Cisco Network Agency will deliver recognized certifications in networking and cybersecurity.
