Bishop Salifu Amoako, head pastor of Alive Chapel International, and the mother of his son have been instructed to file a complaint with the police regarding images of their son circulating in the media following a fatal accident in East Legon.
The couple, along with a third individual, is on trial for allegedly allowing their 16-year-old son, an unlicensed driver, to operate a vehicle that resulted in the tragic deaths of two 12-year-old teenagers.
During their second court appearance since their arrest, the couple expressed concerns about images of their son being posted on social media.
Their lawyers invoked the Judicial Justice Act, which prohibits the publication of minors’ faces, in an attempt to have these images removed.
While the prosecution agreed with the need for such an order, they questioned the logistics of enforcement and to whom the order would apply.
As a result, the court directed the parents of the juvenile suspect to formally lodge a complaint with the Ghana Police Service regarding the unauthorized sharing of their son’s images.
