Renowned lawyer and social commentator, Lawyer Egbert Fabille Jnr has warned that there could be dire consequences for the Convention People’s Party, CPP since they have gone ahead to have their congress despite the injunction placed on the entire process by disqualified presidential aspirant, Dr. Onzy Nkrumah.
Dr. Onzy Nkrumah after his disqualification secured a court injunction to halt the CPP congress on Saturday, January 30. He believes he was disqualified unduly and that he should be brought back into the race to contest.
The CPP however has gone ahead to convey their congress in Accra despite the injunction placed on the congress.
Legal practioner, Egbert Fabille Jnr disclosed to Sampson Lardy on news file on Saturday that there could be serious implications for the CPP for not upholding the dictates of the injunction.
He added that, per his knowledge on legal issues, the leadership of the CPP erred in going ahead to have their congress despite the injunction on the process by Dr. Onzy Nkrumah, son of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking on news file, disqualified aspirant, Dr. Onzy Nkrumah dismissed claims that he has not stayed in the country for a long time and does not have enough understanding of issues in Ghana. He said he has been in the country since 1991. He also indicated that he has been a card bearing member of the CPP for six (6) years and believes could make a positive impact when given the opportunity to lead them.
