The Corporate Services Executive of MTN-Ghana, Mrs Cynthia Lumor says the company is consistently investing capital to make the network a seamless one.
This, she stressed is to make its customers enjoy the best of services through technology.
Addressing news editors and radio station managers in the Ashanti Region, Mrs Lumor recalled the recent soft launch of the improved 4G-network service was testament of the company’s resolve to make customers have the best as well as technologically driven seamless service.
Mrs Lumor, tracing the history of MTN recalled how the company metamorphosed from Spacefon to Spacefo-Areeba after it started preparations for telephony in 1994.
She stated actual work commenced in 1996 under its parent platform Scancom Ghana as it experimented with a relatively slow technology which was available at that time .
The Corporate Services Executive recalled how the MTN from such humble beginnings in 1996 where it used analog operating systems had grown to become the most preferred network in Ghana.
Mrs Lumor, cheerfully, pointed to the successes of the company having gone through several phases where it used the improved 2G technology and finally to its current stage where it is using the fastest available technology and speed.
She, however, called on the National Communication Authority,(NCA) to streamline its activities to rid off sim-box fraudsters from milking the telecom companies through their dubious operations.
Speaking later at the function, Mr Stephen Asare, Mobile Money Officer at MTN-Northern Business District mentioned how the platform had ensured efficiency and speed in business transactions.
Traders as well as businessmen, he noted do not need to carry huge monies along when they were travelling since they could load cash on their wallet and retrieve or collect at the next mobile money vendor or joint.
Welcoming participants at the media engagement ceremony which is christened ‘Editors Forum’, Mr James Bukari Basintale, General Manager, MTN-Northern Business District expressed the commitment of the company to strengthen its partnership with the media across the country.
According to him, the media were in a position to inform, educate and scrutinize the operations of the telecom companies so as to ensure better service to their customers.
