The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South; Hon. Adu Poku Christian has assured that many dilapidated schools in the district will be renovated alongside the provision of quality and adequate classroom furniture.
The District Chief Executive who was speaking at the last General Assembly meeting of the year held at the Assembly lamented the inadequate revenue inflows. He said funding constraints continue to hamper the Assembly’s work and potential.
He was however confident that things will be better next year.
He was deeply worried about the inadequacy of classroom furniture and the rate at which they broke down and highlighted the need to take a second look at materials used in constructing same. He said the problem cut across various districts and called on other districts to consider better materials for the construction of furniture for school children.
He also revealed that a lot is being done about the activities of quarries and their effects on the residents and assured that solutions will be found.
